I had driven by this location back in July when I got lost delivering photos… I meant to check it out and forgot all about it! On Sunday I was determined to find some fall colors. I knew they had to be lurking out there somewhere and I refused to let Mother Nature win this round. I packed up my girls and took them out for a drive. Oh my word, it is one of the most beautiful locations I’ve found yet! I found my fall foliage, my rolling wheat fields, a small orchard…this place is a photographer’s dream!
I don’t typically post photos of my own children here as I reserve this blog as a place for clients, but I’m so excited about this new place that I want people to see just how incredible it is! It’s definitely worth the trip out there. I can’t wait to shoot a session here, so if you’d like to book something, please ask me about this place!
We had just a tiny bit of sunlight on Sunday before the yuckiness moved back, so I tried to make the most of it!

I tried something a bit different here. A good friend of mine spends a few minutes at the end of her sessions playing with kids and shooting from the hip. I’ve been making an effort to do this because kids have much more fun interacting with me without a camera in their faces! So, while these may not be ‘technically’ correct, I burst into simultaneous laughter and tears when I opened these images! These are my girls to a T. My oldest running towards my youngest with sheer joy, my youngest ready to accept her with open arms. Then skipping off, holding hands like dear old friends. Even with technical errors, these two images speak more to me than any other I have on my walls. This is why I vow to play and shoot from the hip at the end of my sessions with little ones.
